Sony describes the unique features of GTA 5 on the PS4

The highly acclaimed GTA 5 will finally make its way to the next generation of consoles in just a matter of days. More than one year has already passed since the game was first released on last-gen and set a new record for the fastest selling title of all time. While I’m fairly certain that it will not have the same impact this time around, we’ll actually be looking at a better version of the game when it releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Rockstar used the new hardware to make a host of visual improvements to GTA 5 in order to have it look even more beautiful than before. In addition, the company apparently added some unique functionality to the PS4 that can be accessed through the DualShock 4 controller.

Sony boasted about these new features in a recent blog post where they also described them in detail. The company says that players will be able to switch seamlessly between  the regular third person mode and GTA 5’s new first-person mode directly from the Touch Pad. You can also use the pad to switch between radio stations, camera angles, and even weapons on the fly. Another unique PS4 feature allows you to listen to police radio chatter and receive phone calls from various GTA 5 characters through the DualShock 4 speakers. Last but not least, the controller can provide you with some useful information thanks to its Light Bar.

Sony says that the bar will change its color depending on what GTA 5 character you happen to be playing at that moment. Even more useful, the Light Bar will let you know when the Los Santos Police Department is on your tail. Similar to the lights found on police cars, the bar will flash red and blue to let you know that you should that you’re in trouble. GTA 5 will be released on November 18 for the PS4.
