Feral Interactive brings Deus Ex: Mmankind Divided to Linux and Mac

DX: Mankind Divided will connect to new platforms

Cyberpunk lovers with alternative tastes in computing hardware should rejoice. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is also coming  to Linux and MacOS before the end of this year. As the title is getting stellar reviews already, this is sure to be a quality adaptation, even though the specs have not yet been released for neither platform.

This announcement comes directly from Feral Interactive, the publisher who also took care of titles such as XCOM, XCOM 2, Empire: Total War, Alien: Isolation and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, among others. It’s fairly clear that they know what they’re doing with this one, even though they had yet to work with the new Dawn Engine that Eidos Montreal has developed for Mankind Divided. If it works out fine, Mac and Linux users can rest assured of continuity, as Eidos plans on using the engine on future projects also.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the latest installment of the Deus Ex franchise, which has been resurrected in 2011 with the release of Human Revolution. Mankind Divided is the continuation of the story of Adam Jensen, a security expert which is forcefully augmented as the world enters the age of trans-humanism. The theme of trans-humanism  was not yet prevalent in human consciousness when the first Deus Ex was released, back in 2001. Is Eidos just following trends, or is there something more sinister at work? Either way, gamers should now be able to enjoy Mankind Divided on every big platform. Don’t get carried away, though…
