Half-Life 2 is coming to the Android-based Nvidia Shield console

Tech website PC Perspective received a very surprising gift today that teases Half-Life 2 for the Nvidia Shield. The gift comes in the form of a bright green crowbar with the message “What would Gordon do?” engraved on it. A picture was immediately taken and posted on Twitter in order to share the good news.

The crowbar was sent by either Nvidia or Valve themselves, and features the logos for both Half-Life 2 and the Nvidia Shield. This can only mean the highly acclaimed title will make its way to the Android-based handheld gaming console very soon. Sending out a crowbar seem like a strange way to celebrate the release of a game on a new platform. A game that is now almost 10 years old I might add. However this is not the first time PC Perspective receives such unusual presents.

The website says that just last week Nvidia sent them a chocolate cake along with an “Aperture Laboratories” card. Apparently this was the company’s way of announcing that Portal 2 will soon be coming to the Nvidia Shield. As a side note, I would also like to add that this proves the cake is not a lie after all.

Other peculiar gifts include:

– a pill container filled with “Verdetrol 1GHz” jelly beans sent by AMD as part of a graphics card marketing campaign.

– a pry bar with the message “For Use in Case of Zombies Or….”written on it.

– a wooden crate that said “Caution: Weapons Grade Gaming Power” to be opened with the aforementioned pry bar. Contained inside there was an Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 dual-GPU graphics card.

– a “TOP SECRET” envelope with a picture inside that teases an AMD dual-GPU graphics card.

Portal 2 for the Nvidia Shield will be coming next Monday, May 12 and will be available for purchase from the Google Play Store for $10. We don’t have a release date for the Half-Life 2 Android port yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
