The Last of Us PS4 gets a $10 price-cut from Sony

Gamers are used to seeing serious price reductions for older video games. Sales such as Steam’s Summer Sale create huge spikes in video game sales. It’s a lot rarer to see price reductions on unreleased games however. Such is the case with Sony this time, who has decided to trim the price-tag of the upcoming PS4 exclusive, The Last of Us Remastered for Playstation 4 by almost 20%. The initial price of the game was set to $60, but Sony has decided to tune things down a notch and sell the game for $50.

Seeing that we’re talking about one of the best games of 2013, demand for The Last of Us is high, and people can’t wait to get their hands on the future PS4 exclusive. Thus, many have already pre-ordered the game, either from retailers such as Amazon or Gamestop, or from the Playstation Store directly. Those that pre-ordered the game from retailers should already have the difference refunded. However, those that bought the game from the official PS Store aren’t as lucky. Technically, Sony doesn’t do refunds on games purchased via the PS Store. This time around though, they made an exception, and have officially announced that the $10 difference will be reimbursed.

The company officials stated that the refunds will take some time to land, so players should expect the difference to be refunded in 5 to 7 days. This is of course a minor nuisance – after all, those that pre-ordered already had no problems with spending $60 on the full price of The Last of US PS4, so getting $10 back is just a nice bonus. The Last of Us Remastered for Playstation 4 will not only bring updated visuals (tailored to the new generation console), but will also include extras such as interviews with voice-actors and a commentary from the director of the game, Neil Druckmann. The Last of US PS4 will also include all the DLCs of the original game, minus some extras that can be purchased separately.

If you’re eagerly waiting to get your hands on the PS4 version of The Last of Us, you won’t have to wait much longer. The game is set for release on the 29th of July.
