EA delays NBA Live 2015 by a few weeks

EA Sports announced, through an open letter, that they are delaying NBA Live 2015. The developer states that the team needs more time to polish the game, so they are pushing the release date from October 7 to October 28.

EA states that they still have work to do on the certain areas of the 5-on-5 gameplay. They assure players that the team has paid extra attention to every system in gameplay, focusing on improving control and responsiveness. EA also promises (and has already teased) that the game will have animation that looks and feels great. The team announces that the game will be released on October 28, which also happens to be the opening night of the 2014-15 NBA season, as opposed to October 7, when competitor NBA 2K15 comes out.

According to EA, they are committed to delivering the highest-quality game they can. The developer is launching a gameplay blog, where they promise to keep in touch with the fans and give them details regarding the game until its release. EA Sports will release a trial version before the game’s official release date and they encourage fans to play it in order to convince themselves that the game is worth it. The game will be released on Playstation 4 and Xbox One on the previously mentioned date, and it is priced at $59.99.

NBA Live is not at its first delay/cancellation. In 2010, EA cancelled NBA Elite 11 and in 2012 they cancelled NBA Live 13. In other words, let’s be grateful that they only postponed the game this time and not scrape it completely. Judging by this open letter, the company seems really determined to finally beat 2K. We’ll see, however, if this is the case, once both games are released. One of the major differences between the two titles is that NBA 2K15 is also coming out on PC and on last-gen consoles Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
