New Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel DLC coming later this month

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is scheduled to receive a brand new DLC on December 16th. The new content pack goes by the lengthy name of “The Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught.” This is the second of several scheduled DLCs and follows the Handsome Jack Doppleganger Pack, which was released last month. Owners of the new pack will gain access to brand new story content that features a couple of characters you may have already be familiar with if you’ve played the previous installment in the series, Borderlands 2. The characters in question are the Vault Hunters Axton and Gaige who will apparently play a key role in the Holodome Onslaught DLC, although specific details regarding their involvement have not been revealed thus far.

Aside from new story related content, players can also expect to find the usual assortment of new weapons, skins, mods, and other loot. The upcoming DLC also brings with it a free update, as well as a new game mode that goes by the name of The Ultimate Vault Hunter. This mode is pretty straightforward as all it does is give players a way of playing through Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel again on a higher difficulty that awards much better loot. In addition, the Holodome Onslaught DLC also raises the level cap up to 60, which translates to 10 new levels and 10 new skill points.

The latest content pack for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be available for purchase for the price of 10 bucks, just like the previous one. Those who already own the $30 Season Pass for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be given free access to Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack: The Holodome Onslaught. More info on this update, as well as on the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode in general is expected to arrive sometime before launch. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
