Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker Releases Character Clips

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker, a part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, was recently announced to be receiving a remake for the 3DS. To give a little more insight on the game, a few character clips have been released.

In the new character clips for Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker (seen below), three characters are introduced: Jungo Torii, Airi Ban, and Ronaldo Kuriki. Jungo is a chef living in Nagoya who is quiet and gentle. He values peace and friendship, and enters a rage when he sees that his friends are being threatened. Airi is a bright and lively high schooler living in Nagoya. She is not afraid to provide her opinions about matters or people. Finally, Ronaldo is a detective living in Nagoya, and is a firm believer of justice and protecting the weak.

The setting of Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker is Japan, where players play as a silent protagonist whose thoughts and actions are chosen by the player. The game will unfold differently depending on the player’s choices, with some decisions having a lot of weight. The wrong choice can mean the permanent death of a character, with multiple endings being available depending on the choices that players make. Devil Survivor 2 features tactical-based combat, and the ability to fuse demons into more powerful forms. Record Breaker continues after the ending of the original game, nearly doubling  the length of the title. The game will be adding full English dialogue for both the old content and the new, and will give characters new abilities and demons to fuse. Players do not need to have played the first Devil Survivor to play the second, making the game accessible to newcomers.

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker releases in Japan on January 29th, and in America in early 2015. The game will be available for the 3DS. The game will cost players $49.99.
