Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update rolling out, as per Sprint and T-Mobile

The Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update should start its rollout today, as per Sprint and T-Mobile. Android 5.0.1 hit AOSP earlier this month and it seems Sprint and T-Mobile are done tweaking the OTA and should begin the rollout to the Nexus 5 today. The Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update should bring some bug fixes and new features, which should make the handset work with Lollipop even better. The Nexus 5 is last year’s flagship from Google and a crowd favorite when it comes to high-end smartphones.

The Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update is version number LRX22C and should include improvements to performance and stability. T-Mobile and Sprint didn’t say much about what the update will do or what features it will brings, but we’re hoping to see battery issues as well as pairing with Android Wear devices will be fixed by the new version of the OS. The Nexus 5 is one of the most appreciated handsets and users enjoy the stock Android and timely updates that the handset gets. The Nexus 5 is one of the most popular handsets at the moment, users only complaining about camera performance. With the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, though, the device does have a few issues and bugs we’ve encountered on other devices, too, such as battery drain, performance and pairing issues.

Sprint and T-Mobile are the first ones to announce the Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update rollout. Even though many Nexus 5 users have already been experiencing the Lollipop treatment for a while, the update should fix some issues many have been having with performance and battery life when it comes to pairing the device with wearables. Even though the Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update has been announced and should begin its rollout, we haven’t received word from users receiving the OTA yet. If you’ve already received the OTA, tell us what differences you can notice and whether improvements are noticeable. Until then, we’ll be patient and wait for the Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1 update to hit so we can examine it ourselves.

About Egon Kilin

My life-long dream has been to test out every gadget on the market! Considering the fact that I've rapidly destroyed almost every gadget I've had so far, I'm not inclined to owning something, so my ideal outcome would be to have a different gadget each month. I'm really into smartphones, wearables and tablets and I love Playstation and Xbox, I'm sure I'll beat you at your own game (after a month of training... or two)
