HTC Hima to be definitely marketed as HTC one M9 says insider

Lately, there has been some debate in regards to the name of HTC’s upcoming flagship, with many agreeing that its codename at the moment is HTC Hima while others are still calling it HTC One M9. It seems that both parties are in fact correct to some extent as revealed by a notorious leaker. The now retired industry insider Evan Blass, formerly known as @evleakes, recently went on Twitter to express his opinions on the matter. Blass says that the smartphone does currently go by the codename of HTC Hima, but that it will indeed be released to the market as the HTC One M9.

Many of us were already pretty certain of this given that last year’s model is called HTC One M8, but then word got out that the Taiwanese manufacturer might drop it in favor of an entirely new name. In any case, given that @evleaks was arguably the most famous leaker of smartphone-related information last year, it’s nice to see his thoughts on this. Names aside, the HTC Hima is expected to make its first official appearance at the MWC, which takes place between March 2-5. Rumor has it that HTC will also unveil a new wearable at the event, although there is very little evidence to support this at the moment, so take it with a grain of salt. But werable or not, HTC will undoubtedly focus most of its attention on the HTC One M9 at the upcoming event.

Again, we only have leaks and rumors to work with, but if even half of them are true, the HTC Hima should come equipped with a 5-inch FHD resolution display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor under the hood. Other specs should include 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of initial storage memory, and a 20.7 MP camera on the back. It goes without saying that these details are not yet official, which means that we’ll have to wait until MWC to see how much of this is true.
