Android games you should try!

When it comes to Android games there’s a lot to choose from. With new titles popping up all the time it’s hard to keep track of the best ones. We will try to list some of the best Android games for you to choose from. The following games are not listed in any particular order so you can put away your rocks and pitchforks.

The Walking Dead

Telltale Game’s The Walking Dead Season 1 is now available for android. It had a huge success on all platforms, winning 90 “Game of the Year” awards. The game is set in the same world as the TV show but with a different storyline and characters. It relies heavily on choices, letting the player control the flow of the story. The first episode is available for free as a demo. There are five episodes available in total plus the “400 Days” DLC.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition

Finally one of the greatest CRPG titles got ported for android devices. The Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition comes with new content and higher resolution graphics. It also offers a touch-friendly interface making the game as enjoyable on any android device as on your computer.  The same save-game files can be used on both Android and Windows versions so you can take your game with you everywhere. If you were a fan of the original PC version, you will enjoy the ported version as well.

Terraria

Some people call it Mincraft in 2D. Terraria is an open-world sandbox game based on exploration but it’s not limited to one play stile. The game has very simple goals: dig, fight, explore and build. This may sound similar to Mincraft but Terraria feels more like an old school dungeon crawler, with lots of monsters to kill and boss’s to slain. It’s a fun game to explore with many interesting locations.

Anomaly 2

If you’re a fan of tower defense like games you will like this one. Anomaly 2 is a tower defense game with a twist. Instead of building towers to kill waves of monsters, this time you control the minions. Your goal is to guide your Mechs through the maze of enemy turrets and destroy them. You’ll have different war machines to choose from and to upgrade them to best fit your strategy. The game involves a lot of planning, as choosing the right path or the time to morph your units is crucial to success. The graphics of the game are impressive even more so considering it’s an Android game. If you enjoy tower defense like games and want to try something fresh this game might be perfect for you.

GT Racing 2

There are plenty of racing games on the market to choose from but GT Racing 2 is one of the best. GT Racing 2 is a pretty solid game, with gorgeous graphics and great control modes. You can steer your car by on-screen controls or by tilting your device. It’s always good to try more control modes until you find the one that fits best. The game provides a lot of cars and all of them are upgradable and customizable. GT Racing 2 also features different weather conditions and times of day to provide an authentic driving experience. You can download the game for free but be prepared for a barge of in-game purchase pop-ups if you don’t plan to buy it. GT Racing 2 is a game worth to try even if you are not a racing game enthusiast.

Rayman Fiesta Run

After Rayman Jungle Run’s big success, the new platform runner in the series is taking things to a new level. Rayman Fiesta Run is a good looking game with a wacky theme that will keep you entertained on your long bus rides or lengthy meetings. The goals are simple: get from point A to point B and collect as many Lums as possible in order to free Teensies. The more Teensies you free, the further you’ll progress on the world map.  This can become quite addicting as unlocking new powers, characters or art will make you come back for more. Be careful with this one if you happen to be a big platform-runner addict.

There you have it, some of the best games on the app-market for you to try. This isn’t by any means a top list as we mentioned before. We listed them only to give you some ideas if you can’t decide on what games to pick up next for your Android mobile device. Tell us what games you enjoy on your tablet or smartphone.
