LEGO Batman 3 goes Beyond Gotham with Debut Trailer

TT Games have announced a new LEGO game based on the Batman license: LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The game will again feature a full cast of DC Comics characters in both hero and villain form, and will try to expand on one of the most successful LEGO game series out there.

After the success of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, it’s time for DC’s game to shine, with Justice League and Legion of Doom now in the spotlight. It seems that the LEGO Batman series is becoming the go-to game for fans of DC Comics, the game sporting 150 different characters from both sides. It seems that you will be able to play as both hero and villain, and the title “Beyond Gotham” suggests more variety in the environments.

This also means that the game will feature more open stages, with more options to tackle different situations. Each character will have a range of different suits which will give them special abilities. The fact that the two main factions will need to team up in order to defend Earth against Brainiac’s forces, some characters will have a hard time working with others and they will add more humor to an already humorous series.

TT Games promises that the stale gameplay of the LEGO series will get a revamp in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, with space combat levels, races, virtual reality missions, platforming and some RPG elements added to the mix. It seems that they added some sort of progression to the game’s characters, players getting new abilities as they play through the campaign.

As usual, Lego Batman 3 will launch on all the platforms under the sun, with versions planned for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC. The launch window is set for the fall, so we’re not that far from playing Batman’s new LEGO adventure.
