New Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor trailer reveals exclusives

Monolith Productions and Warner Brothers have released a new gameplay trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor today. The video is mostly focused on the game’s weapons and rune system, but mentions exclusive pre-order bonuses as well.

The trailer reveals that Shadow of Mordor’s main protagonist, Talion can use a wide variety of runes in order to upgrade his weapons. These runes can also be combined in order to generate a greater effect, thus making your character’s weapons much more powerful. Everyone who pre-orders the game will receive a certain rune pack, depending on which retailer you choose to buy it from.

Gamestop pre-orders will get you the Hidden Blade Rune, which deals extra damage when you’re executing stealth attacks against Sauron’s captains. Furthermore, you will also receive the Captain of The Watch character skin if you pre-order from here.

Best Buy pre-orders will get you the Flame of Arnor Rune, which ignites your blade when you achieve a high combo count and allows you to incinerate you enemies.

Amazon pre-orders will get you the Deadly Archer Rune, which allows Talion to do extra damage when executing ranged headshots against Sauron’s Captains.

Steam pre-orders will get you the Orc Slayer Rune, which gives you extra damage when you perform special attacks against Sauron’s Captains.

Pre-ordering Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor also grants you access to The Dark Ranger pack, regardless of which retailer you choose. The pack includes an exclusive character skin, as well as a challenge mode called “Test of Power”. The game is expected to be released worldwide on October 7 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and the PC.

At the moment purchasing prices seem to differ from one retailer to another so make sure you check all of them before deciding to buy the game. Stay tuned for more updates and news.
