Galaxy A3 and A5 specs and price leak

When the Galaxy Alpha was launched Samsung announced that it would start designing a line that would be inspired by the metal additions on the Galaxy Alpha. As such, Samsung will be revealing three new phones in the Galaxy Alpha line, the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. Leaks about these new Samsung handsets have been pouring in and the Galaxy A3 and A5 have already shown up at the FCC and TENAA.

What we know about the Galaxy Alpha line is that it will be comprised of smartphones with premium builds and metal frames, sporting pretty good specs. Emphasis with these new phones has been put on design, though. The Galaxy A5 has already shown up at TENAA and it looks like a mid-range phone. The Galaxy A5 has a 4.8 inch screen with a 720*1280 resolution. New benchmark apparitions show that the A5 will also sport a quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 – how’s that for a 64 bit Samsung Galaxy handset?

The Snapdragon 410 will be coupled with an Adreno 306 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage expandable via microSD card. From benchmarks, the Galaxy A5 will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but with that 64 bit configuration, it will surely end up running Android L Lemon Meringue Pie. As for the Galaxy A5 camera, model number SM-A500 if you’re interested, the main shooter will be a 13 MP one while the front camera will be a 5 MP sensor. The juice on the Galaxy A5 will be provided by a 2300 mAH battery. The Galaxy A5 will supposedly have a full metal-clad body, which would be a first for Samsung, according to rumors. The Galaxy A5 is rumored to retail for around $400 when it hits the market.

The brother of the A5 is the Galaxy A3, model number SM-A300, has also shown up online, at the FCC and it seems it will be an entry-level device. The Galaxy A3 will be a smaller, 4.52 inch AMOLED screen with a 540*960 resolution and the same 64 bit CPU as on the Galaxy A5. The A3 will have 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card. The same Android 4.4.4 KitKat is suspected to be the OS on the device, but we’re sure this one will also benefit from Android L when it gets launched.  The Galaxy A3 rear camera will be an 8 MP sensor on the rear and a 5 MP sensor on the front. There hasn’t been any confirmed info on release date and pricing, but we suspect the A3 to retail for around $250.

About Egon Kilin

My life-long dream has been to test out every gadget on the market! Considering the fact that I've rapidly destroyed almost every gadget I've had so far, I'm not inclined to owning something, so my ideal outcome would be to have a different gadget each month. I'm really into smartphones, wearables and tablets and I love Playstation and Xbox, I'm sure I'll beat you at your own game (after a month of training... or two)
