Evolve will get a Wraith as its third monster, official trailer revealed

We finally got a good look at the third monster in Turtle Rock Studios’ Evolve and it’s definitely not what I expected to see. It is in fact, even more awesome than I anticipated. The monster is entitled Wraith and that is no coincidence as the creature features abilities that make it worthy of its name. The Wraith seems to be able to warp around at will, while also attacking and moving incredibly fast. These features make the new creature very powerful and quite a hassle to deal with for the hunters. Speaking of which, the latest trailer for Evolve featuring the new monster also shows the new set of hunter that includes Parnell, Abe, Caira, and Cabot.

But we already knew quite a bit about the hunters for a while, so let’s talk some more about the monster. We first got a few glimpses of it earlier today thanks to a leak but just moments ago Turtle Rock decided to make the official announcement seeing as how the cat was already out of the bag. The developer of Evolve says that Wraith is a female and describes her as a “space alien ninja Monster.” Despite the name, her appearance is more mantis-like than ghost-like due to her blade-claws and overall insect look. One might even say that she looks quite similar to the Zerg from Starcraft or the Tyranids from Warhammer 40K, creatures that no doubt inspired Turtle Rock when creating the third Evolve monster.

Wraith will be very different than Goliath and Kraken in the sense that she has low health and armor, which means that you won’t be able to tank a whole lot of damage while playing her. Instead, Wraith’s playstyle demands that the person controlling her makes good use of her speed and maneuverability while also having good knowledge of her unique abilities. This monster will be best suitable for those who already know their way around Evolve. In other words, seasoned players. You can view the official “Stalker Trailer” for Wraith below.
