Destiny will get many new events in the near future

Any good MMO should ideally have lasting appeal in order to keep players hooked and convince them to return to the game time and time again. While Destiny is considered a pretty good game by most, there are many who criticized the fact that it’s too grindy and there aren’t a whole lot of interesting activities available. Luckily Bungie is already taking steps to fix this situation and has announced a bunch of new public events that will be gradually added to Destiny in the near future. The company already revealed five of these events, but only detailed two of them so far. However, more are bound to be announced in the near future and Bungie promises other surprises as well.

The first event is called Salvage and is scheduled to arrive today, September 12th to Destiny’s Crucible and last throughout the weekend up until September 14th. The Salvage mode pits two teams of three players against each other on various small to medium sized maps. This isn’t just a team deathmatch though as there are objectives to accomplish and relics to secure in order to claim victory. Rewards include Crucible Gear, Crucible Marks and Crucible Reputation. Then, on September 16th the Vault of Glass will become available to Destiny players. This is a six-player co-op level 26 raid that’s said to be the toughest PvE challenge so far. The encounter rewards players with Raid Set Gear and Ascendant Materials. Destiny will also have two more public events this month called Queen’s Wrath and Combined Arms while in October players will get to try out the Iron Banner. There is no further info available at this time regarding these three vents, but more details will surely follow in the days and weeks to come.

As mentioned, more events and surprises are scheduled to be introduced to Destiny at some point in the future so it looks like Bungie plans on keeping its promise to “aggressively” support the game post launch. “These are only some of the surprises we have planned for you,” Bungie said. “Very soon, strange characters will arrive in the Tower with special offerings in hand. Public Events will erupt from the skies over your favorite destinations with greater frequency. And, Bungie will enter the fray with some bounties of our own for you to claim – if you can.”
