The Wolf Among Us PS4 and Xbox One release date revealed

Telltale Games announced that The Wolf Among Us, their episodic game based on Vertigo Comics’ “Fables” series, will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November.

To be precise, the whole first season of the game will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 4th. Telltale will also release the PlayStation Vita version of The Wolf Among Us at the same date. Furthermore, all versions (including the last-gen ones) will be available in retail stores once the next-gen versions are released.

The Wolf Among Us is a game situated in the universe of Fables, a comic book series created by Bill Willingham. The comics are set in modern day New York, or more specifically in an area of the city called Fabletown. This area is populated by popular fairy tale characters such as Snow White and The Big Bad Wolf, who were forced to leave their homelands and live in our world in exile. If you are familiar with the game, you know that the events that take place in Fables are far from the children’s stories we are used to find these characters into.

If you haven’t read the comics, don’t worry, you will have no trouble understanding the game. The Wolf Among Us serves both as a prequel to the comic book series and as a way to introduce new fans to this universe. Many people, including me, started reading the comics after playing the first episode of the game, so I guess this strategy worked.

So far, Telltale hasn’t confirmed or denied the possiblity of a second The Wolf Among Us season. The developer is currently working on several projects including Tales from the Borderlands, which is a spin-off to Gearbox Software’s series and a game based on Game of Thrones. No release date for these games is known at the time of writing.

About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
