Fallout 4 Season Pass

Fallout 4 Gets a Season Pass

Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, pretty much all of the Fallouts; Bethesda has a track record for making some pretty huge games. I’ve played more hours than I’d care to count on Skyrim and that’s without the addition of its DLCs. With that said, the DLC’s themselves also have a track record of being quite substantial. The Shivering Isles DLC, way back when, could have been its own game. With the upcoming release of Fallout 4, Bethesda have announced on Bethesda.net that they will be offering a Season Pass.

At the moment, not even Bethesda are sure what the Season Pass is going to actually offer. They mention that they’re currently focused on the game itself and as such haven’t actually decided what the DLC will be. They do, however, make comparisons to their former game’s DLC offerings specifically referencing: Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Suggesting that based upon what they’ve done in the past, Fallout 4’s DLC will be just as substantial with a valuation of at least $40. With Fallout 4’s Season Pass priced at $30 you’re already set for a discount and you can rest easy knowing that you will get absolutely all of the game’s future DLC.

If you decide to opt out from Fallout 4’s Season Pass there will still be some free features that you can look forward to. Much like their past games, Bethesda promises to release regular updates for Fallout 4; some may even offer new features like Skyrim’s Legendary mode that came out more than a year after the game. Also, Bethesda is going to be releasing their Creation Kit for the PC sometime next year. If this is your thing, you’ll get a new toy to play with next year; if not, you can always access other people’s creations. Even better still, after Todd Howard’s somewhat historic E3 presentation we know that all of the mods released on PC will also be released on the Xbox One and later on the PS4.

DLC has been a touchy issue with gamers. The big question is, are you willing to fork out $30 to gain access to content that isn’t even announced? However, Bethesda does have a good history of rather beefy DLC and I’d be inclined to think a lot of people will.

About Daniel Cooper

Hi I'm Daniel and I'm an aspiring writer, avid gamer, and wanna-be cook; I'm not quite certain in which order. I like all things RPG and if that means swords n' spells, all the better. But, provided it has a good story I'll probably want to try it regardless of what it is. I'm a Windows junkie, and I spend my time gaming on Xbox, PC, and my 2DS.
