Toki Tori 3D Review

Toki Tori is an awesome puzzle game. We’ve known this since the first game launched on Game Boy Color in 2001. We saw an equally amazing sequel (Toki Tori 2) in 2013, and for good reason – the series is absolutely charming, and Toki Tori 3D is no exception.

Toki Tori 3D is a version of the original game made especially for Nintendo 3DS, and I’ve had an absolutely blast with it. It’s not a very long game, and there’s not a whole lot I can say about it without spoiling the puzzles and the overall experience, but I’ll try my best.

Toki Tori 3D, though short, has a pretty wide variety of environments to enjoy. From lush forests to slimy sewers, this little bird has quite an adventure. Don’t worry though – no matter where you go, you’re going go have a great time. The abilities that Toki Tori has work well, and they’re limited – so these puzzles aren’t always a walk in the park. Fortunately, there’s a rewind feature that allows you to move back just a few seconds after a mistake instead of starting a stage all over again.

Compared to the original version of Toki ToriToki Tori 3D is graphically incredible. Sure, it might not look as great as Toki Tori 2+, but that’s to be expected. The bottom line here is that Toki Tori 3D is a fantastic puzzle platformer that is ridiculously cheap, insanely fun, and irresistibly cute. There’s no way I can give this one anything but a glowing recommendation. You owe it to yourself to pick this one up.

GREAT

Toki Tori 3D is an excellent version of a classic puzzle game, and it deserves a spot on your 3DS.
