Nuzzel – The news aggregation app for iPhone is here

After almost two years since Jonathan Abrams, the founder on Nuzzel said they’re preparing an iPhone app, the social news start-up finally completed the job. A little too late we might add, because many news aggregation apps are already available. So what makes Nuzzel so special? Its simplicity, of course.

Other news aggregation apps require a complex setup process or a sophisticated technology to be actually useful. Meanwhile, Nuzzel does nothing else but ask users to login with Facebook or Twitter and see the news their friends shared the most over the past hours (or even over the past 24 hours). So instead of seeing a bunch of news you’re not even interested in, you get to see the more important and/or interesting news surfing in your group of friends. You can also take a look at the news your friend’s friends shared if you think other news will also catch your interest.

The iPhone app doesn’t only aggregate news, it also gives users the ability to send personalized news alerts as notifications. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for breaking news only, Nuzzel will alert you if a lot of your friends shared the same story. You can also choose how many alerts you want to get from Nuzzel. You can set the app to send you three alerts per day, for example, but you can go from one alert to as many as you want, all you have to do is change the settings, whenever you want, to increase/decrease the number of alerts you want to receive in that day.

Considering Nuzzel is an iPhone app, the news aggregation start-up might not have to worry about its product being popular or not. And the fact that Nuzzel is as simple as it can be, no wonder many will choose to use it above the other, more complicated apps. Not that other news aggregation apps are inferior to Nuzzel, some users might prefer a more sophisticated app that probably has more interesting features than a simple “Login to Facebook/Twitter!” app. News aggregation apps have been around for some time now and people are more used to complex setup processes. Some would say Jonathan Abrams entered into the social media news market a little too late.

About Egon Kilin

I’m Load The Game’s co-founder and community manager, and whenever I’m not answering questions on social media platforms, I spend my time digging up the latest news and rumors and writing them up. That’s not to say I’m all work and no fun, not at all. If my spare time allows it, I like to engage in some good old fashioned online carnage. If it’s an MMO with swords and lots of PvP, I’m most likely in it. Oh, and if you’re looking to pick a fight in Tekken or Mortal Kombat, I’ll be more than happy to assist!
